Plant Visit: EcoBatt Battery Recycling Plant

The EcoBatt recycling facility collects and processes used batteries and converts them into useable materials.

End-of-Life batteries contain high value materials such as nickel, cobalt, lithium copper and steel. Rather than being lost to landfill, or exported, EcoBatt’s advanced processing plant ensures that these resources are recovered onshore and fed back into Australia’s manufacturing ecosystem.

The EcoCycle Group is Australian-owned and operates two complimentary businesses: Castings Tasmania and ACL Metal Powders.

As the electrification of the economy proceeds, many more batteries are being employed and the need for recycling is becoming more important.

Come along and see a clear practical example of the circular economy at work.
