August 17th 2022:  3D Sand Printing

This presentation has been organised by the AFI, and will present a fascinating look at how modern 3D Printing technology is being applied to making sand cores and moulds.

The image above shows how 1239 different sand cores were printed in the same run, at the same time, reducing cost and improving accuracy. The unused space is filled with unbound sand which protects the cores during transport.

Die Casting plants can take advantage of this new technology in making prototypes, pilot production runs and equipment repairs.
The presentation will be made by Adam Hassell of Hasco Foundry and Shane Corish from Race Cast Engineering.
